Hinduism, at least outwardly, is particularly embracing and respectful of other religions. At Fatehpur Sikri, this is evidenced within the architecture and decoration of the beautiful red sandstone palace. This has long since been deserted but remains an unusually well tended and preserved complex. The king had 3 wives, one Hindu, one Muslim and one Christian and uniquely each of their quarters are honoured through symbolic decorative motifs of each religion.
